Development Activities of Society – DAS was initiated by some of local level likeminded social workers of Jhenaidah district headed by Mr. Abul Kalam Azad (Founder & Existing Executive Director) in 1998. DAS Started it`s work at Harinakundu Upozilla under Jhenaidah District to eradicate the problems of the society. Later on DAS expended the capacity whole of Jhenaidah district.

Micro Credit Program (WCP): The Micro Credit Program - the first urban replication of the PKSF model in Bangladesh- commenced in 2001 as an integrated income generation project for slum dwellers and urban poor particularly women of Jhenaidah City, to bring the poor especially the women in the mainstream of the development and create wide employment opportunities with special emphasis on income generating activities through providing credit and encouraging savings. Based on the satisfactory performances, MCP extended its activities to rural and other urban areas of Bangladesh. The MCP operates with the following objectives:  
  • Institution building by organizing slum and rural based participatory women organizations;
  • Provide credit to groups and individuals for self-help initiative with particular emphasis on women’s participation;
·         Encourage savings of the poor; ·         Raise awareness of the beneficiaries about their rights and the surrounding environment; ·         Increase efficiency, skill and level of understanding through education and training so as to enable them to face any unfavorable situation; and ·         Provide free legal education and counseling to its beneficiaries.  
Other projects of MCP:
·         Project dignity for the beggars ·         Ultra poor project ·         Housing loan project ·         Grihayan Tahabil (housing fund) Management         Health Development Program: DAS initiated health development Program to ensure health facility to the direct beneficiaries of DAS. The program has been financed by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh. The program area of the organization is Harinakundu Upazilla, Sadar upazilla of Jhenaidah District. The component of the program is primary health care, sanitation, women health, child health, medicine distribution.  

Vulnerable Group Development: VGD was initiated in Bangladesh from 2009 with the support of Bangladesh Govt., Dept. Women of Affairs. Approximately 28,000 women were the  direct beneficiaries of the program. Life skill development, Training, Savings Credit, Food Security were the components of the program. The program area is Dimla Upazilla of Nilphamary District.    
Networking and Advocacy Networking is essentially an effective media for building relationship and rapport with like minded organizations. Implementing a large project through networking becomes very easier and can be accomplished smoothly. Given the importance of networking DAS played a crucial role in forming several networking including Credit & Development Forum (CDF), Khan Foundation, and Bangladesh Shishu Adhikar Forum (BSAF), WBB Trust, ADAB. DAS takes the opportunity of the network to implement large projects across the country.
